Edge Case Games is currently restructuring the studio, there’s a lot of development work planned for the rest of the year so we’re hiring more QA, Artists and Coders – Great news! However, in the process of restructuring, difficult decisions had to be made for the good of the studio and Fractured Space. One such decision, was whether the studio needed two Community Managers for the low player population of Fractured Space. The answer to that, I think we can all agree on, is unfortunately no.
From today, 14th June 2018, I will no longer be working at Edge Case Games. Before everyone gets into a panic, this absolutely does not mean that development is being stopped on Fractured Space. If anything, the decision had to be made so that we can develop the game more efficiently – remember, we’re still hiring.
For me, as much as it’s disappointing to leave such a great studio, it’s also quite exciting; the world is my Oyster… or… something? But in all seriousness, ECG was the first studio to see potential in me as a Community Manager, I’ve been lucky enough to work among some of the best people in the industry and now I’m able to take that experience with me where ever I go; for this, I’ll be forever grateful.
But it’s not all about me or ECG, what about you guys? Well… you wonderful lot were the first community I had the priviledge of managing. It was fun, sometimes very stressful, but I enjoyed every minute of it; even when I’d let you beat me on stream and pretend to be salty.
The Fractured Space community is one of the best gaming communities I’ve been a part of, you are all so passionate about the game, and you make sure to keep us developers in line; if we ever did something you didn’t like… oh boy did we hear about it, and that’s exactly what Fractured Space needs.
I leave you all with one of my favourite videos…
Thank you all for being amazing,
Steggs A.K.A #1 Basilisk Player in the World.
