As part of the Alpha 18 update we are making a few changes to the store to aid players in understanding what they’re deciding to buy.
The first change is in terms of Platinum. For those players who choose to use Platinum we are removing the 25,000 ($99.99) pack temporarily, adding a new $9.99 (2,200 Platinum) option instead. This is being done as it was felt that the current range of choices jump in cost rather faster than is desirable. The 25,000 Platinum option will be reintroduced in the future (currently targeting Beta 1).
We are also changing some skin prices to avoid confusion and make it more obvious what players should expect from a skin bought through the store. Skins are being categorised into 5 groups:
|A||3,990||Ultimate skins. Often including significant changes to the appearance of the ship, extra special effects and providing a credit-earning bonus|
|B||2,990||Legendary skins. Often including significant changes to the appearance of the ship and extra special effects|
|C||1,490||Premium skins. Changes in ship skin materials, new design schemes and decals|
|D||990||Standard skins. New and alternative design schemes|
|E||490||Basic skins. Colour changes to existing design schemes|
In order to bring existing skins into line with this system we are making the following changes:
We are transitioning skin bundles to take into account the changes in price listed above and in order to allow players to complete their collection with a bundle that takes into consideration any skins they already own. Skin bundles will represent a discount over buying skins individually, although this discount will vary depending on the bundle in question.
Since this requires additional work to complete we are temporarily withdrawing existing bundles from the store. We expect them to return with Beta 1.
The Titan Defense Systems Executioner will have an introductory bundle available which includes the ship unlock and Purple Reign skin for 1,990 Platinum.
Flag skin bundles will be available at a cost of 3,725 Platinum. This is a reduced price to normal and will remain this way for the duration of the World Games contest. When the skins become available again in the future they will be at their normal price.
We will be continuing to offer a 50% discount on a selected skin each week, with other offers available occasionally. In addition to this, and due to the changes in pricing we will be offering some bundles and skins at a reduced price when new skins are introduced.
Our aim is to move to a position where the pricing of skins is transparent and predictable. While we transition to this system there may be some confusion, in which case please don’t hesitate to comment on either the Steam or official forums.
